TEACHER OF THE YEAR 1999 - 2000
Ms. Nancy Arnot has been selected as the Outstanding Teacher of the Year for the Hope School District. A graduate cum laude of Jersey City State College, with a degree in Art, Ms. Arnot joined the Hope faculty in 1997, teaching visual arts to students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Ms. Arnot is a master teacher who has contributed extensively to students’ artistic growth and development. She is responsible for transforming the halls of Hope School into art galleries!
Ms. Arnot’s classes reflect an appreciation of both the visual and performing arts. She works closely with other teachers to incorporate the New Jersey Core Curriculum and grade-level thematic units into student projects. The artwork of her students has been displayed locally in the school and community, and more recently, at the Children’s Museum in Cherry Hill, NJ. She has implemented an "Artist of the Month" program at Hope School, where a student is selected each month for their artistic talent, and their work is displayed in the classroom for others to appreciate.
