Hope Township School would like to congratulate Mrs. Lianne Markus
as our 2010-2011 Teacher of the Year!
Hope School would like to recognize Mrs. Lianne Markus as our Teacher of the Year, (Governor’s Teacher/Educational Professional) for 2010-11.
Mrs. Markus attended University of So. Carolina and received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. She more recently attended Centenary College where she received her teaching certification for Gr. K-5. While at Centenary, Mrs. Markus had the distinguished honor of being named Student Teacher Leader in the Fall, 2007. She currently teaches Language Arts for Grade 5, Social Studies for Grades 3,4,5 and also Single Subject Math, Gr. 4. Mrs. Markus has accomplished a great deal and has made a tremendous impact on the students and staff in the two years that she has worked in the Hope School District. She is a valuable member of the local Professional Development Committee, our Language Arts Curriculum Committee, serves as the Academic Enrichment teacher, Panther Pride Newsletter publisher, and Journalism Advisor. Mrs. Markus is an enthusiastic teacher, whose professional focus involves differentiation, student motivation, creative lesson planning, and technology integration. Mrs. Markus resides in Warren County with her husband, Russ Owren, and her three children, Chelsea, Tucker and Eric. She enjoys writing and spending time with her family. Mrs. Markus will be honored at a luncheon on May 6th at Hawk Point Country Club. Congratulations, Mrs. Markus!
